Subject: Travel Grants for Young Doctors - European Congress Clinical Neurophysiology Istanbul
Dear Colleagues,
Dear Delegates,
It is my pleasure to announce that the European Chapter of the IFCN will distribute a minimum of 60 travel grants, of 600€ each, for young doctors or investigators attending the next European Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology in Istanbul.
Conditions to apply are :
1) to be aged 40y or less
2) to be registered and submit an abstract to the European Congress as a first author
3) to be short-listed and officially proposed by the corresponding National Society of Clinical Neurophysiology
Therefore, I ask you to rapidly disseminate this information among the members of your respective Societies, so as young doctors can rapidly contact you and apply for the fellowship. We can reasonably propose two grants per country, but if one or more Societies do not ask for them, every effort will be done to distribute the surplus among other young participants. Thus, please shortlist the demands and send up to four (4) possible names (with full postal and e-mail addresses) of them, listed by priority. Priority should be based on a balanced consideration of the quality of the presented abstract and the existence or not of other financial resources to support the candidate.
Feel free to contact the EC-IFCN board if you have any further question
With best regards
For the EC-IFCN Board
Luis Garcia-Larrea
Secretary / Treasurer, EC-IFCN
PS. The announcement of fellowships is also posted in the Web page of the congress, at http://www.eccn2008.org/

13th European Congress of Clinical Neurophsyiology
Istambul, 4-8th May 2008
CARTA DO PRESIDENTE DA IFCN
As the date gets closer, we would like to repeat our invitation to you to attend the 13th European Congress of Clinical Neurophsyiology which will be held in Istanbul on 4-8 May 2008. Since our previous call, there have been some updates related to our Congress. The scientific program has been finalized, and you can view it from the Congress website http://www.eccn2008.org where you can make the early registration (deadline January 31, 2008 ). Many eminent scientists have already confirmed their presence to lecture.
We encourage you to be promoters and ambassadors for this meeting within your Society Members in order to push them to submit their best clinical and pre-clinical research activity. As you may observe by the enclosed program and Speakers List, the panel and the topics which will be treated is really excellent. It will also include the President of the whole ExCo of the International Federation, Professor Shibasaki. The Organizing Committee will select the most interesting and timely contributions from the Abstract submissions as oral presentations for the main congress sessions. You can submit the abstract directly to the the website (deadline for abstract submission December 20, 2007). A huge fellowship program for your researchers has been prepared, with at least 60 travel grants being offered to young european doctors. Abstracts will be published in a special issue of Clinical Neurophysiology, a fully impacted Journal in Medline. The Congress venue in Istanbul is a magnificent one, and the delegates will be able to combine a scientifically most exciting event with an unforgettable cultural experience in this splendid city.
We therefore would be enthusiastic in seeing numerous and high-quality contributions from your Society.
Thanks in advance for your kind and fruitful support.
Truly Yours
The Members of the Executive Committee, European Chapter of Clinical Neurophysiology
Paolo Rossini (Chairman),
Luis Garcia-Larrea (Secretary / Treasurer)
Anders Fuglsang-Frederiksen (Member-at-large)
Teresa Sagalés (Member-at-large)
